As our new Senior Risk Manager you will be joining the Integrated Risk Management (IRM) Team of the Risk Management & Controlling (RMC) department of Lloyds Bank GmbH. This role is either located in Berlin, Germany or Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

What are we looking for?

As our new Senior Risk Manager you will be joining the Integrated Risk Management (IRM) Team of the Risk Management & Controlling (RMC) department of Lloyds Bank GmbH. This role is either located in Berlin, Germany or Amsterdam, the Netherlands. 

The IRM team consists of risk specialists in the field of Capital, Market, Liquidity and Non-Financial risk as well as Commercial lending activities. It manages the overall risk profile of the bank.

Your accountabilities

Embed risk frameworks:

  • Support the bank in managing its risk culture and risk appetite.
  • Support the new product approval process and focus on optimizing risk and return.
  • Foster effective relationships with colleagues across the organization, including Lloyds Banking Group, the RMC department and partnering business functions (e.g. Finance, Treasury and Product Management).

Take over strategic responsibilities:

  • Translate insights on financial and non-financial risks into actionable recommendations for senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Play a key role in regular ICLAAP and Recovery Plan productions and integration of these in the bank risk management.
  • Enhance quantitative and qualitative methodologies for risk-bearing capacity calculations, strategic plans (e.g., capital plan), stress tests, and ad-hoc requests.

Report on and manage risks:

  • Develop and maintain risk frameworks, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and insightful management reports for both internal and regulatory purposes.
  • Interpret complex data using statistical techniques and provide actionable insights to drive and support business decisions.

Support regulatory compliance:

  • Analyse relevant regulatory developments (CRR, CRD, MaRisk, EBA Guidelines, etc.) and provide recommendations for implementation and compliance.

Coordinate audits:

  • Coordinate internal and external audits within the IRM Team.

Who are you and what do we ask from you?

Qualifications

  • You have a postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject (e.g. business economics, econometrics), with a track record of continuous development.

Experience & Knowledge

  • You have experience in a similar function at an ECB supervised financial institution.
  • You also have at least 5 years of professional experience in the area of financial risk management.
  • You have a good and deep understanding of different risk types the bank is exposed to, both financial and non-financial.
  • You have knowledge of both MaRisk and EBA requirements regarding managing the risk profile of a bank.
  • You are proficient in modern risk management techniques, and in the usage of risk models within such an environment.
  • You have good Data analytics skills and programming skills (SAS, SQL, Python or similar).
  • If you have experience in participating in large scale/ transformative bank projects it is a plus.

  • You have a highly analytical approach to problem solving.
  • You have excellent planning and organisational skills
  • You are self-motivated and well-organized, with the ability to get things done even under pressure.
  • You embrace a hands-on mentality and proactively tackles challenges.
  • You possess good communication skills in verbal and written English. Good mastering of the German language would be a plus.
