
Senior Operational Risk Manager - Operational Resilience
The team
Within Non-Financial Risk Management, the department Execution, Delivery and Process Management Risk focuses on a number of risk areas such as Payments Processing, Outsourcing, Product Approval & Review and also on Operational Resilience and Business Continuity. As part the CoE Operational Resilience & Business Continuity Risk your role is pivotal for our success.
You report to the Head of the CoE Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Risk.
Roles and responsibilities
As a Senior Operational Risk Manager - Operational Resilience you would be:
- Supporting and challenging 1LoD on the further development and implementation of ING’s operational resilience framework.
- Work closely with non-financial risk management in ING’s local entities to develop risk management in the area of operational resilience.
- Monitor the bank’s compliance with operational resilience and business continuity regulatory requirements, such as the Digital Operational Resilience Act.
- Connect with other areas within non-financial risk management (IT risk, data risk, third party risk, personal & physical security risk) to ensure a holistic approach towards operational resilience.
- Report on high and critical risks in INGs critical business services and support their business owners in defining remediating actions.
- Support the roll-out of tooling for managing ING’s operational resilience.

As a Senior Operational Risk Manager you have the following traits and experience:
- University / Post Graduate (Masters Degree)
- 10 years professional experience in banking/ business consultancy/ risk management
- Knowledge of the banking value chain across operations and information technology: processes, locations, ICT systems, etc.
- Experience in Retail, Wholesale Banking and/or support functions
- Experience in working in a global organization with different cultures and maturity levels
- Ability to simplify complexity and drive operational excellence
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills
- Outstanding oral and written communication
- You live and breathe the Orange Code behaviors
- You have extensive experience with developing and implementing of operational resilience frameworks, either working in a bank or in consultancy;
- You are a hands-on professional with a strong ‘can do’ mentality;
- You are comfortable working in a an area of expertise that is still “under development” and are able to develop new concepts;
- You have strong analytical capabilities, quantitative insights and problem solving skills;
- You have a strong focus on the delivery of results, that are also of high quality;
- Strong prioritization and planning skills;
