IT Development Manager for Public Cloud

The Public Cloud Domain provides an AWS and Azure Platform with enhanced capabilities that enable IT teams at NN to build cloud infrastructure more securely, in accordance to NN standards, and at a faster pace. By delivering centrally managed, "productized" building blocks, the Public Cloud teams will become more customer focused. Central insights (like security and financial operations) are crucial for managing the infrastructure once it is built. We also deliver an observability capability with Splunk and JMonitor to create a single pane of glass for comprehensive infrastructure management.

In the role of IT Development Manager (ITDM) for Public Cloud you will be responsible for the development of the engineers of the Azure Platform, the AWS Platform and the Cloud Security teams. You address the need for the growth of engineering practices and a skilled engineering workforce in your product domain and act as an enabler for the digital transformation.

Your responsibilities

• You effectively manage the NN’s People Cycle process and use the NN HR conversations, processes and tools to manage staffing, hiring, selection, onboarding and retention
• You define the objectives for and with the team, including development paths for skills and team maturity
• Creating a Strategic Workforce Planning for the team composition in line with the product strategy
• Establish Objectives and quarterly Key Results on learning and development together with the domain’s leadership team (e.g. Product Manager, Product Owners and domain architect)
• Empower teams by removing impediments
• You develop and evolve the engineers based on your technical experience and craftmanship
• You help build the right culture by organizing engagement among engineers, make sure they have fun in their job and learning new skills becomes normal. Also you ensure the teams create a mindset of solving customer problems and delivering product value
• You guide the team towards modern engineering and help ensure product quality

As a member of the leadership team, it is also expected that some of these responsibilities will be performed for the entire Public Cloud Domain.

• Salary between €5362.- and €7661.- (based on 40 hours per week) depending on your knowledge and experience. It is also possible to work 36 or 38 hours per week.

• At least 3+ years of relevant work experience in leading and coaching technical people and teams
• You are well informed about the latest technologies and use your own skills and expertise to coach and train your engineers
• An endless drive to help people grow and provide new opportunities to learn
• You make an effort to understand other people’s perspectives and long-term ambitions
• You provide regular feedback to others. You help them with insights on their effectiveness of their performance
• You are experienced at proactively managing the recruitment lifecycle and selecting talented candidates
• You stay informed on the latest developments in your area of expertise and effectively use this information in a long-term perspective

Who you will work with

You will working very closely together in your product domain with Product Manager, Engineering Manager and Product Owners. You will also find your place in our teams with the engineer teams which has a variety of backgrounds and cultures. We have a scale-up culture and consists of a group of 40 energetic and empowered engineers. We strive to make public cloud technology successful across the entire company including our international units like Spain and Japan. We really value our culture and nourish it at every opportunity we get. Team events are regularly organized. Last year we did game days, hit the pool tables and had several dinners and drinks with the teams.
