Data Scientist Procurement

Do you love using the latest technology and tools to build AI solutions that make the NN Group Procurement department and all its services for colleagues and customers better, faster, and easier? Then this is the job for you! We are expanding our data science guild and are looking for a colleague to join our Group Procurement department.

You will be part of the Group Procurement department and have a strong link with the Advanced Analytics & AI team, which, as an expertise department, builds scalable and repeatable AI solutions for the entire Nationale-Nederlanden. The Procurement department plays an important role in managing over 1 billion EURO in spending and closing many contracts with regional and global suppliers.

What you are going to do

With your solution-oriented and proactive mindset, you translate Procurement (data) challenges and issues into applicable use cases that will lead to concrete data science solutions. We work with an agile mindset, and everything is built from our AI toolkit.

Specifically, you analyze a complex landscape from the Procurement department and distill it into potential use cases. We are thinking of improving supplier segmentation, preparing negotiations using benchmarks, comparing contract terms, automating contract renewals, and supporting compliance monitoring. We would love to hear your ideas and thoughts on this. You will then be the driving force behind bringing these AI solutions into production. How exciting it is to create real value for our company with your solutions. Researching and applying new technology plays an important role.

You will use state-of-the-art techniques such as AI as a service and LLMs, like Cognitive Services and OpenAI. You are open to inspiring and helping your direct Procurement colleagues translate their needs into AI solutions. Above all, you enjoy presenting your solutions and taking concrete steps towards further adoption and applicability of AI.

Who you are

You are results-oriented and enjoy delivering code projects for the business, but you especially see value in the further adoption of our AI solutions. Your open attitude and strong communication skills greatly help with this. Additionally, you have:

• a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Econometrics, IT, or a study with a strong Data Science component
• experience in developing ML applications in Python
• practical knowledge of the data science process, such as data collection, cleaning, model evaluation, and model implementation
• preferably experience with (Azure) CI/CD tools, Git, SQL
• and it’s a plus if you have experience developing (Flask) APIs
• Above all, you enjoy further developing the above points on the job

Who you will work with

The team you work with on a daily basis consists of specialists from Data, Compliance, Third Party Risk Management, and various Procurement professionals in our department. You will collaborate with one of our managers (product owner) to frame your tasks. Above all, you have a lot of freedom to find and develop use cases on your own or with your colleagues.

Additionally, you are a member of the data science guild, where approximately 50 data scientists meet. Here, you exchange knowledge and experiences with peers. We believe that every data scientist can learn from peers and vice versa, contributing to the community. This way, you accelerate your career and deliver maximum value with our AI solutions.
