As a Business Controller Operations you play an essential role in helping to improve the performance of the Retail NL domain. The Business Controller Operations is the responsible for one or more departments within Operations. The Operations domain is responsible the service and support of the client segments of the Dutch retail market and works closely together with the CPO domain to improve end-to-end client processes. In addition, Operations manages all Dutch Facilities and has global Procurement & Vendor Management in place. You challenge when necessary and contribute where possible! In this role you will be reporting to Manager CPO & Operations.
Your proactive and forward-looking analysis leads to new decision making enabling significant improvement in business results. You achieve this by providing new insights as Business Controller and acting as sparring partner with various stakeholders. Challenge when necessary and contribute with impact! As a Business Controller at Rabobank, you play a pivotal role in the core of the bank.
Top 3 responsibilities
- Acting as a trusted advisor for the head of one or more departments on (non)-financial and governance matters.
- Steering and coordinating business control activities for the Operations department, such as financial and management accounting, organizing and coordinating financial management cycle (within boundaries of MTP process), challenging senior management in strategic decision making, advising business and supporting management in (financial) steering of domain.
- Help prioritize operational activities between the various Operations teams via meaningful insights to balance business, Tech and Risk priorities to optimize cost-benefit for the bank.

Furthermore, you will provide analyses, benchmarking, scenario analyses etc. to deliver insights and robust challenge that drive the strategy, business decisions and In Control-process. The team is also responsible for controlling the execution of initiatives and projects, the performance on the KPIs and the control of the usage of resources such as costs and capital. You and your talent

- You have a completed university education, or higher, with a numerical or strategic focus;
- You are an expert in finance and control (s.a. Basel IV and IFRS 9) and understand the impact of legislation on the business;
- You are a sparring partner on financial and strategic matters;
- You are open and transparent, able to challenge the business and supporting units to reach Rabobank’s goals and results;
- You live & work in the Netherlands, have a EU working permit;
- You speak, read & write both fluent Dutch & English.
